Who should sign up for MyClosedList?
MyClosedList was created to help MBAs and other experienced business professionals find the best career opportunities. Whether you’re actively looking for a new job or just want to keep your options open, MyClosedList is right for you.
MyClosedList identifies and delivers job opportunities that are ideal for MBAs and other experienced business professionals. From hot new startups to industry leaders, we find companies that are seeking managers to senior executives in a wide range of functions.
Currently, we are focused on jobs located in or near Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco. We select and publish nearly 500 high-quality jobs in these regions every month.
What will I get every week and when will I get it?
Every Monday and Thursday night, you will receive one email per region that contains newly-listed positions that meet your geographic preferences. Each email will feature 10-15 such opportunities.
In addition, you will have 24/7 access to MyClosedList’s job database (“The List”), which will enable you to search through all active jobs previously published in our emails.
Where does MyClosedList get its jobs?
The MyClosedList team looks through hundreds of company websites and other job boards and hand-selects the opportunities that we feel will appeal to MBAs and other experienced business professionals.
Why should I sign up for MyClosedList?
Traditional ways to conduct a job search can be time-consuming, limited, and/or expensive. For example, it takes time and effort to maintain your professional network, and even then you’re only going to hear about jobs if people in your network 1) know about them and 2) remember to tell you about them. Likewise, executive recruiters will only let you know about jobs that they are hired to fill - and how do you get on the radars of top recruiters in the first place? Meanwhile, it takes a lot of effort to separate the wheat from the chaff on general job sites, and many companies don’t put their high-quality management positions on those sites in the first place.
With that said, if you are actively looking for a new job, we recommend that you use all those means - especially in this economy. In addition, use MyClosedList to supplement your current job search activity. We meticulously search through hundreds of sites and may find jobs that you have missed. We also may discover jobs that you won’t hear about through other channels.
And if you want to keep your options open but don’t have the time or energy to go through those traditional channels, MyClosedList is the perfect way to stay aware of potential opportunities without investing a lot of time, effort, or money. We’ll do the grunt work for you, hand-select the best jobs, and deliver them right to your inbox.
How is MyClosedList different from job websites like Careerbuilder, LinkedIn, and TheLadders?
There are two main differences between MyClosedList and these general job websites:
1) Other job websites are limited to only the jobs that companies decide to post on their sites. Most companies only post a fraction of their open positions on these sites, and many choose to skip these sites altogether. MyClosedList searches hundreds of job boards, including these general job websites and company job boards – so you have access to the widest selection of jobs possible.
2) Not only do other job websites have a limited number of jobs seeking experienced MBAs, but these positions are buried among thousands of other jobs. Their search functionality is basic and automated – search for “MBA” and you get entry-level MBA positions; search for “Director” and you get IT Director positions; search for “VP” and you get admin assistant positions that report to VPs. You also get posts from recruiters that are purposefully vague about their available opportunities, forcing you to contact them to learn more. As a result, you can spend hours looking for the proverbial needles in the haystack (and as mentioned above, there are fewer “needles” to begin with). Likewise, these limitations make their job alert emails relatively useless.
MyClosedList does not use automated technology. We are a team of MBAs from top schools and companies, and we rely on our experience and background to manually screen each job and select only the most interesting ones for our subscribers - which we then neatly package and send right to your inbox. We spend the hours so you don’t have to.
